October 21 - Mastering Import & Export Management
Ms. Kelly Raia co-author of Managing Import & Export Management has been
involved in freight forwarding and customhouse brokerage for over 20 years. Ms.
Raia joined FSI/American River in 1996. During this time she has worked as a senior
account manager leading to managing the international department including global
export and import operations. In 1997 Ms. Raia assumed various consulting responsibilities
and became ARI’s in-house specialist for import/export compliance. She has worked on
some major accounts assisting their staff in global logistics, compliance management
and working on the various international and government web sites for compliance
resources. Ms. Raia has also developed various in-house programs for management
training, utilizing technology in importing and exporting and in developing skills for
import/export compliance management. She has lectured at the World Trade Institute
and supports Tom Cook and Rennie Alston for the many courses and programs they
deliver on various international logistics and compliance matters.

September 21 - Doing Business with North Africa and the Middle East
               Please join us as Mr. Daniel Fisk presents “Doing Business with
               North Africa and the Middle East.” Mr. Fisk has served as Vice
               President of Strategic Planning of the International Republican
               Institute; Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for
               Western Hemisphere Affairs on the National Security Council;
               Deputy Director for International Counternarcotics in the Office of
               the Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security
               Affairs. For these positions, Mr. Fisk oversees the development
               and implementation of policies to expand initiatives towards Latin
               America in the area of good governance, economic development &
               trade, health, education and housing. Mr. Fisk holds a Juris Doctor
               and Masters in Government from Georgetown University.

August 17 - Basics of Exporting and Importing
               Jim Wickstead will speak on the basics of imports & exports.
               Topics include but are not limited to: international terms of sale,
               buyer and seller responsibility in foreign transactions, Export
               Administration regulations, U.S. Customs regulations, product
               classification, and many others. Students will receive handouts,
               reference material, and a copy of "Mastering Import &
               Export Management."
